My first ever Book Tag!!
Heya book nerds!!
Welcome to my first ever Book tag!! I've been wanting to do one for a while now 'cause I see them all over the book blogging community and they look like so much fun! And what better way to get started than the classic Newbie Tag, right?
I first saw Linda @Linda's Little Library do it, and then checked out some other bloggers too. BTW Linda is an amazing person with an even more cool blog, so be sure to check her blog too. Trust me, you'll love it.
So without further ado, let's get into the fun.........
1) Why did you start this blog?
Unlike other bloggers, my reasons for starting this blog were quite unique. I was a voracious reader, and that is to say that I consumed books at the speed of light. But nobody around me, neither my family or my friends were like me. I needed t talk about books with someone, or at least get my end of the frustration out. So I made a blog where I could rant and gush about all the books that I loved incessantly. But the thing was that I never even published my site. This blog was meant for my eyes only.
It took a lot for me to make this site public and let other readers on it.
2) What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?
I bring to the table my own very unique and amazing self.......Isn't that enough? ( Plus I have a lot of crazy self-made tags and challenges up my sleeve, so keep a look-out )
3) What are you most excited about this new blog?
Definitely free books. I mean, ARCs are one of the biggest perks of being a book blogger. And when you have as limited pocket money as me and have to look longingly at shiny, new releases in the hands of others when you can barely have all the backlisted books you want, you have to find some other way to get your hands on books.
4) Why do you love reading?
Because it's the only thing keeping me sane enough to be here (and because it annoys me younger sister to the bone whenever she sees me with a book).
5) What book or series got you into reading?
The Harry Potter series by J.K.Rowling. I know it's a very common answer but before that, I was just a so-so kind of a reader. And then one day when I was maybe 8 or 9, my mom gave me the Philosopher's Stone to read during a train journey to pass my time, and then there was no looking back.....(I remember wishing that I was in the Hogwarts Express instead of that train)
6) What question would you ask your favorite authors?
As I am an aspiring writer myself, I would ask how they come up with the breathtaking fantasy worlds, how they face rejection in the publishing industry, and what is the best way to get through a first draft.
7) What challenges do you think in starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?
Getting an audience. It seems to be the biggest problem right now when I have just started out and my blog barely gets any traffic.
As I said, hardly any of my friends are book-lovers like me so they're not really interested in checking out my blog.
If you like my blog and wanna be my bookish friend, then don't hesitate to contact me through my email, and let's get together over a good book and some chocolate!!
8) When did you start reading?
Oh! This is easy. I started reading when I was 7. Enid Blyton......Roald Dahl...Fairy tales....you know, the works.
9) Where do you read?
Wherever it is quiet and comfortable. Which is usually (not) my bedroom. But I manage...
10) What kind of books do you like to read?
I love reading fantasy, murder mysteries, and young adult contemporary.
Okay, that was it for my Book Blog Newbie Tag!! I had a lot of fun doing this, so I hope that you enjoyed reading this too. And if you would like to do it yourself, then I tag you.
Don't forget to let me know what you thought of this post. What kinds of post do you want me to do? Tell me something about yourself! Come on, let's get to know each other!!
Wishing you a happy time reading,
Yours Literary,
Fantasy Maniac #FM
