Updated: Oct 23, 2020

"The meek may inherit the earth, but at the moment it belongs to conceited. Like me."- City of Bones, Cassandra Clare

"I figured all your classes were stuff like Slaughter 101 and Beheading for Beginners." Jace flipped a page and said" Very funny, Fray"

"The funny thing about mundies is how obsessed they are with magic for a bunch of people who don't even know what the word means"-Alec Lightwood.

I highly, highly recommend reading this series because I literally LOVED this!! My love for this series is largely because of nostalgic reasons, I know that it has its own flaws....Don't get me wrong, every book does, but this was the series that actually introduced me to the world of Fantasy.

I cannot just recommend this enough, especially for the people who have just started getting into the Fantasy genre!!

Shadowhunters were practically my obsession in 7th gradel!! Lol...

So if you don't know what this is about, this series follows the story of 16 year old Clary Fray, as she enters into the dark world of demons and angels. Since childhood, she has lived among the mundane or humans, although she belongs to this supernatural race of humans called Nephilim or Shadowhunters that are born to protect humanity from demons. There are also other mythical creatures like vampires, werewolves, faeries and warlocks that are called Downworlders.

If you liked the first book, or even if you didn't , I would say definitely give City of Ashes (Book 2) a chance as Clare skillfully picks up the pace in the end with twists, turns and betrayals that will change the game, keeping us hooked all through City of Glass (3), City of Fallen Angels (4), City of Lost Souls (5), City of Heavenly Fire (6)

It was honestly one of the most life-changing book I've ever read because after this... I was just completely taken over by the fantasy genre and I just fell deeper and deeper into it.

Praise for Shadowhunters: "Wildly popular...... Prepare to be hooked"-Entertainment Weekly

"The Mortal Instruments series is a story world that I love to live in. Beautiful!!"-Stephanie Meyer, author of the Twilight Saga

'The new queen of fantasy"- The Wall Street Journal

"A completely engrossing series that draws you in before you even think to turn back, The Mortal Instruments may be just the thing to fill the Harry Potter shaped hole in your heart'-Redbook
